This is why I typically trust and buy large corporations over small ones when it comes to (voluntary) FDA safety. They can withstand the loss.

On the other hand, they can afford the lawyers. Thankfully they didn't go down that road in this case, but some corporations have notoriously decided that it's cheaper to pay the fines and settlements than to disrupt their sales.

It’s a voluntary recall but something of this extent would’ve turned into a mandatory recall regardless.

You'd be surprised. Prices were already rising, especially on baking chocolate from Israel. Additionally, Elite will likely raise prices on all products across the board to cover losses.
