IDK why, but I always get a kick out of the Chinese guys that spend a solid 30 seconds blindly prodding the keyboard to come up with a seller name. A 15 character ridiculous letter mixture isn't enough for them. They need 60 characters of nothingness.

A bunch of drunken monkeys dancing on keyboards isn't just a saying with them - it's legit how they run their businesses. And they're remarkably successful.

I wrote this 4 years ago which is related, though Amazon has cracked down on a lot of the manipulation mentioned. Though as seen here, the manipulation and scams have just become more "sophisticated" as predicted at the end of the post.

Here is a little primer on variations on Amazon. Most of it might seem obvious or self understood, but perhaps someone will find it useful.

Reviewmeta actually checks for these types of scams, but it seems like they still have the old title. Since they have the old title, the reviews match the title, and there are no red flags.

It seems like review meta only alerts you if there are still variations of the original product available on Amazon. Since this is the only variation available, reviewmeta didn't help with that.

Amazon is known for taking immediate action when contacted for comment from the media.

I heard this from a big-time frum Amazon seller, who has groups etc. He said that he was quoted by big media outlets a few times for grievances he had, and each time, Amazon reached out to him as soon as they were contacted for comment by the outlet. In fact, he said that his problems were always solved by the time the story ran.

In this case, Amazon can ban the seller immediately, and put measures in place to track these sellers in the future.

Interesting. I only heard this from one person, but he was quoted in national publications, like Forbes and the like. Were you quoted in those types of places?

Yes but more popular than Forbes

I stand corrected.

Apparently, the "big-time frum Amazon seller" I was quoting was... yuneeq! I just put the pieces together and realized that he was the one I met once who told me about his experience. 

It was a few years ago, though, so my memory must be fuzzy.
