Membership Rewards Transfers to LifeMiles Not Instant?

I transferred 6000 membership rewards point to Avianca Lifemiles for a 6500 United short haul booking. My understanding was that it's supposed to be instant but it's not showing up in my Lifemiles account. It's been about 30 minutes and nothing has shown up. I've refreshed, logged out and tried different browsers and still not there. I also haven't gotten a confirmation email which seems weird.

I called Amex and they said they see the transfer but that it could take more time. So is it instant or not? Seems like it's not instant. Really don't want to miss this booking. I'm getting a really solid rate.

I confirm that Lifemiles transfers are no longer instant from any program.  They now take anywhere from a few hours to over a day, depending on what time of day you initiated the transfer.

Lifemiles processes transfers only once a day, usually within a few hours from 12AM Columbia time.

MR-LM delays are extremely common. Sometimes logging in and out helps, sometimes you just gotta wait. Ooooold issue.

Less than a month ago, both from Citi and Amex.  The miles appear to transfer instantly and show up in activity in the account.

But you can't redeem them if you go to book a ticket, it just says 0 and not enough miles.

This new behavior was confirmed by two separate reps as well.

Dunno what to say, this was on April 10.  Also 2 separate accounts, both not new, so it isn't like this was due to some kind of seasoning issue or something.  It definitely caused me to drop LM down a couple notches in the ranking for how to book future bookings.

Being that it was 2 accounts, and transfers from both Amex and Citi, seems hard to believe that this was a fluke (unless that particular day was problematic?)...

I woke up this morning and my MR to LM transfer was completed. I put in the transfer at 5:20 PM eastern time. Thankfully, the flight I wanted was still there. I was checking, refreshing and logging in/out fairly frequently last night.

Separately, why does LifeMiles charge an extra $10 processing fee? Is that because the flight is for this Sunday and it's within a certain time frame?

I transferred MR to lifemiles yesterday around 4 PM pacific time and was instant.
