Around 1pm I arrived to EWR and opened check-in. The check-in were new so had to smooth out some matters. Check-in went quickly as no one had checked bags, there were no covid papers to check.
https://twitter.com/EWRairport/status/1521553719095140354Around 2:30pm we got word about a truck fire at the airport entrance and many people were stuck in traffic, but b”h by 3pm everyone was checked in, besides one passenger who shared a very common name with another passenger. By 3:30pm check-in was done, I rushed to the gate, only to find out that the catering was held up for some reason, and instead having that done by 3ish, they only left 4:15pm.
Boarding started, and then we ran into issues again, there were 3 people with the same name, and 2 were checked in with the same boarding pass
Till we figured out what’s flying, and got the name added to the system, gave the passenger a hand written boarding pass, and 5:25pm the doors closed and we pushed back

Arrival to Budapest
As we were planning to land at 6:30am and the cabin and last service is around 90 minutes prior, we decided not to offer any breakfast service, but had prepared “Breakfast boxes” and was offered to-go during disembarkation
After landing I was escorted on the tarmac to make sure the food boxes I checked in for the return flight was taken by the catering company
Our company had rented out the BUD Airport conference room to offer a place for travelers to stop by and make a l’chaim, but in the end we forgot the arrangements & logistics, but I did shlep off the airplane 2 big bags with nosh and I put it in the room and left, and no one knew about this room, and it stayed untouched.
Those travelling with our charter had buses waiting to take them to Kerestir, but I had a private driver, headed to Kerestir for a very short time, and headed back to the airport to prepare for the return flight. We had delayed the return flight with an hour given the arrival delay.
I got back to the airport around 5pm and met a group of 40 people that missed their flight, I told them to go to the conference room we had rented, and B”H they had a nice place to rest and some food.
I sat down with the airline in their office and went thru the passenger list and other stuff that had to be revied before the flight.
Around 7pm check-in opened, and everyone had to pass a security interview “sir did you pack your own bags?”
After check-in I headed to the gate where everyone tried to board at once
