Marriott Platinum Challenge on eBay?

I noticed that on eBay, there are several listings for a Bonvoy Platinum challenge, where the buyers account is registered to obtain platinum status is the AH stays X nights within Y days (the fewer stays required/longer promotional period increase the price).

Is this as simple as calling Marriott and asking for the challenge? Are the sellers doing something shady behind the scenes? Is there a trading thread for this already in existence here?

That challenge (15n with in 90 days) is for specific entity that has received an invitation from Marriott for its employees to participate in this offer.
