It is so very obvious that even the idea to cancel the regent was bc of covid. Covid canceled regents. Whether it was a good idea is debatable. But once the option was made available it now becomes an actual option for future cancellations. The precedent has changed. It’s ridiculous. I’m so sure if covid never happened this wouldn’t either (they’d have the teachers go and black out the offensive question or whatever )
What's the point of a Regent's exam and a high-school diploma? My daughter goes to a school that doesn't give high-school diplomas (and teaches very little general studies). She needed a GED so she can apply for Massa, so she went for the GED exam and passed. Done. (2nd daughter to do it).Mos(t)er is just a rabble rouser and trouble maker. אל תגעו במשיחי, he's playing with fire!
Yup, GEDs are a joke, I got the practice book, skipped to the practice exam in the back, saw I was fine and didn't bother reviewing the stuff in the book.Ironically I passed with critical thinking skills and whatever general knowledge I had at the time. I doubt a public school education in NYC would have given me either of those.
I heard they got harder 🤷. Where did you take it?
Two of my daughters took it recently. AFAIK neither of them studied for it. One managed to fail, the daughter that passed said the only way that could have happened is because she didn't read the questions (the one that failed finished faster).
I was looking into it a while back but it was confusing. Where can I sign up to take it?Do I need to do any prerequisites?
NYC wasting our tax money, like always.
No prerequisites. One daughter isn't 18 yet and needed a special waiver to be eligible to take it. Just search online. My daughters took it at Fulton street.
