I'm really curious if there is a market for high-end C"Y ice cream.

Would you be willing be $8-10 for a pint of really delicious ice cream?
Klein's already makes that. K-select I believe it's called. You can't beat it.
Don't even try it.

You'll just have to come and see for yourself :D
BH I've been CY for about 15 years now. If I was going to break it, it would be on chocolate, not ice cream

It's good, but actually the best C"Y Mint Chocolate Chip, by a long shot, is Phil and Bill's from PIT.
https://www.facebook.com/philandbills/
https://www.philandbills.com/flavors/

They sell it in CLE in several places, not sure how far they distribute though.

The taste is decidedly not high-end. Is it high-end because they market it as such?

I did not like P&B at all. First I thought it was because of the flavor (mint CC) which I'm not a fan of in general, but then I tried a couple of others and didn't like any of them, and none of the dozen or so people I was with were fans either. Still have some in my freezer weeks later.

Agree that the rest of P&B is not great, but Mint CC fans seem to rave about the P&B Mint CC and I can see why, though Mint CC is not my flavor of choice.

Literally just went out and bought 2 new (for me) ice creams to try:

Tuscanini vanilla gelato

and

Phil & Bill Capt. Ahab Strawberry (with chocolate granola)

here's my take:

Tuscanini gelato:
Too sweet, a bit very creamy (I wondered if it was egg yolk based, but nope they use mono and diglycerides for emulsification), very strong vanilla flavor- they use imititation vanilla extract and natural vanilla bean.

Phil & Bill:
Nice fresh real strawberry flavor, just sweet enough (little hints of tartness cut the sweetness). Texture was off, though. Soggy granola bits and icy particle consistency. Perhaps it just doesn't travel well (I picked these up in LKWD)

2hrs later UPDATE:
went back for a 2nd spoonful.

Perused Phil & Bill's ingredients- this one does have egg yolks in the base. Once you identify it, it's hard to miss. IIRC this is French style ice cream. In addition to the strawberries, there is some citrus added, which works great for the overall flavor. I would be curious to taste another carton to see if the texture issue was just a one off.

Tuscanini- I am put off by the overly creamy texture, I would say it is almost gummy. Not a fan of vanillin (imitation vanilla) but I can forgive it, but this one doesn't have a good finish. Something of a chemically aftertaste (that I usually associate with fake sugars). Will not try again.

Klein's already makes that. K-select I believe it's called. You can't beat it.

Just because they call it high-end doesn't make it so.

Anything that needs to use vegetable oils or fats instead of just simply cream is an inferior product.

Huh? That's pretty much the price already.
You see people buying sourdough challohs everywhere for $15-20. That's why all bakeries started selling. People spend money on anything. Make it quality and people will buy.

You're right. I realized that shortly after I posted.

My brain still hasn't adjusted to new inflationary pricing.

Another point for POTF.
Still 1/2 gallon tubs. Still $7.99.

I've noticed that with POTF in certain places. In Baltimore was perfect though
