i know a few people who were flagged today, in both jfk and lhr, and asked to verify the virgin atlantic account theyre tickets were booked from. some who didnt know were denied at check in...

These were all award travel booked with VS points? Source for the VS points? Anything in common for these passengers or how their award travel was arranged?

award travel on virgin with virgin points. points from chase. only connection that they happen to live in same town but booked from seperate account by different people

I had a passenger removed from a flight 2 weeks ago, and account was shut down.
The ticket was flagged due to a mistake in the middle name. They then asked the passenger questions, which unfortunately they answered unintelligently, and they removed them from the flight.

Booked by "different people", actual different bookers on different IPs? Or just different accounts?

of course it has i know people that were denied boarding on a domestic coach flight because it was a award ticket not from their account. They purchased the ticket from a broker and did not even know they were buying a award ticket
There are also numerous stories of people having their account shut down after selling miles on aa

same family flagged yesterday [and allowed through], flew back today on a different account and bh no questions asked

But we haven't seen them questioning people en masse on the TLV flights...
