I don't think it was ever a slam dunk. It was an uphill battle, just based on where the seats were that are on the ballot this year. It was possible for R's to take the senate because of the expected purported wave, but I don't think anyone with a grasp of the map honestly said it was a slam dunk.

According to precedent, the House should be a slam dunk. But IMO, roe v. wade complicated matters, so I wouldn't put my money down on slam dunk anymore, though I think it's still likely that Rs will retake the House. Also, a lot could happen between now and election day.
