I've previously purchased other color variations, the size small fit my 7yo daughter (covers her knees) and is perfect for the summer. She is generally a size 6/7.

Is neckline low/wide? I noticed this issue with other brands where sleeve and knee length is fine, but neck goes way down, e.g.
