From my SIL, any ideas? Flights were over $800 each and the uber was over $300
I would send them an email linking the story from DDMS

In case it helps anyone, the way I found this flight quickly was using flightconnections.com, putting in DTW and then zooming in on NYC to see which nearby airports have direct flights to DTW.

I've used that site in the past to find alternate plans or just to see where all the direct flights out of any airport are (dw hates taking connecting flights with kids, so vacations are pretty much limited to destinations with direct flights).

I'm sure there are other sites that do the same- feel free to suggest one if you have one that you like.

Glad to hear.

Pizza from the Grove or Mala Chicken/Sesame Chicken/Dumplings/Fried wontons from Jade or burgers from Kantina. And of course Ungers custard and cinnamon donuts and Apple Fritters.

CC used?
Not sure I think the Kallahs father paid for the original flight. He's pretty old school wouldn't surprise me if he used a debit card

Kantina burger with sauteed onions, fries or crisps, chicken fried steak, chicken shnitzel app, cookie milkshake, hot chocolate chip cookie.

Even without credit card coverage, involuntary denied boarding cash compensation is fairly substantial.
Contact AA to get the ball rolling on that.

I'm sure AA would have accommodated them on a later flight. That just didn't work for them specifically. Does that matter?

I still use oldmatrix.itasoftware.com and search non stop only and nearby airports 75, 100 or 200 miles away.
(I don't live within an hr of a large airport)

Because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

In that case let him open a few cc's (he's probably at 1/24) and he'll come out ahead from this fiasco
