Was sort of thinking the same thing (didn't want to say it).  But Judiasm is all about making choices. Everyone makes their own (as we see here.)

why is the fact that you teach people how to take advantage of a "price mistake" any different than this?

its the same gezaila (if you want to consider it that).

if GMCR wants to give items away without double checking the info, thats their problem. No different than what you teach us to do in other scenarios!

JollyJ, If you walk into a store and they have an item for a very low price and you paid for it at the cash register would you consider that theft?
Because what you just did was compare that to outright lying about being a school and holding a raffle, and you justify it that they don't "verify" that you are actually a school holding a raffle.

If they don't want to make sure I pay it's obviously not that important to them

The Email they sent me was a receipt for my order ($0.00) and said that the estimated shipping date is Jan 16th. It could be that It's because my event date is at the end of January. I have ordered this for my yeshiva, and I too feel that ordering it for personal use may very well constitute ganaivah.  I want to use it for the boys in yeshiva instead of a raffle, and made that very clear in a note on the form. Listen its as the Rambam writes; a person who has true bitachon knows every dime he makes is coming from hashem. With this in mind how can one contemplate being dishonest in monetary matters, as that is not gods will.

It's prob worse than you think, there was an mini article in the lakewood shopper about this!

Also without bringing this into an ethical debate, i just wanted to mention that the company does not stipulate how many people must enter the raffle or auction or how much money is made on behalf of the school in said auction, therefor someone who wrote a legit charity/school and then does a small raffle, amongst a few people anrd gives the proceeds to theschool....say 5$, has done nothing illegal or halachically unlawful
