Downgrade BA card

Hi, I have a chase BA card that I opened last year to receive the 100k sign-up bonus but now want to downgrade to not pay the Af. I called and they said the only option is to cancel the card as there is no downgrade option. Are there any other options?

I would like to convert to a free one but they're saying they don't have one- I've read online about a hidden one but don't know how to get that
