Speeding ticket NH
« on: July 04, 2022, 12:33:26 AM »
I got a speeding ticket in New Hampshire. My Liecance is from NY. He clocked me going 88mph on a 70 mph road. He slept me with $372 but no points is there any way to fight or Plea-bargain this?

I can't help much but how do you know there are no points.
I know from experience that officers giving you a ticket lie about this.
Moving violations generally go on your record.

FOIA/FOIL request the body cam footage, and don't start the trial until you have the footage.

I should go to trail? Would need to travel to NH? What can I say in my favor?

Maybe the body cam footage will exonerate you.

Of points? Or proving the cop was a liar and that driver wasn’t actually driving 88mph? I doubt the latter will work, maybe there aren’t even points in which case it might not be worth traveling to NH.

Re: NY Driver's Licenses (a headscratcher but its there on the DMV website)

Out-of-state convictions
If you are convicted of a traffic violation in another state or country, points are not added to your New York State driving record, unless the violation occurred in Ontario or Quebec.

New York State has a reciprocal agreement with Quebec and Ontario. Traffic violation convictions that occur in these provinces are recorded on your New York State driver record, and the convictions have the same effect and carry the same points as convictions that occur in New York State. This can affect your driver violation point total and Driver Responsibility Assessment.

The cop told me that he’s not giving me any points I thought he’s just being nice but according to what you say is not even a photo or give me points I wouldn’t apply to my license

FOIA/FOIL request the body cam footage, and don't start the trial until you have the footage.

Body cameras are exempt from FOIA in NH unless they show restraint or use of force by an officer, the discharge of a gun, or an encounter resulting in an arrest for a felony

The the cop didn't even lie and I don't see how the body cam footage (even if available) could help the OP.
