Used the coupon above this morning in a branch (received letter in the mail in my name with this exact offer) and the Chase associate stared at the back of the coupon, he seemed surprised that the terms of the bonus were so lenient.  You have to deposit 15k to receive $175 bonus after 10 business days but after 10 business days when you receive the bonus the minimum balance required is only$300 (and the account must stay open with $300 for 6 months).

I think a lot of the other deals you have to keep the initial deposit in for 3 months.

Pretty easy  to keep a $300 deposit for 6 months especially since $175 of the balance will essentially be coming from Chase.

How long after receiving the bonus can I switch my account to a college checking without losing the bonus? And can it be done in the phone or only In branch?

I have a 300/150 that I want to use online.  I came here to research and saw:
lately thy blocked the option to use coupons online though the big bonuses had to be used in branch always   :(
and
but it never worked for the targeted bonus offers
and
I seem to recall reading that the $200 and under coupons work online but the $300 codes only work in branch. I can't personally verify this though.
so I tweeted:
Quote
@ChaseSupport I have a 300/150 coupon to open checking/savings accounts. Says to take to branch. Will it work to open accounts online?
and got back
Quote
@YG Yes! During the account opening process, there is a page that will ask you for the coupon code. ^AW

DROTR?

UPDATE: Ill prob just try online and if it doesnt work and invalidates the coupon, Ill have to get me another one to take into a branch

Per the T&C of the $175 bonus:
To receive the bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval; AND 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money within 10 business days of account opening. The new money cannot be funds held by Chase or its affiliates.

Has anyone simply transferred the funds from a Chase checking to a Chase savings and gotten the bonus? It would seem like officially that wouldn't work. I'd rather not have to withdraw the funds from checking and then redeposit them to savings if possible.
