I have 3 $200 certificates to give away
exp 12/31/12  4587186230638370
exp 12/31/12  4587186894902736
exp 1/31/13    4597518243877864

I would use one of these to open a second account, can these be used multiple times?  Since you osted it I would like to make sure no one else used them and I wont get credit for it..

Guys, be aware that AP or PP counts as DD with Chase only to waive the monthly service fee, not to get the cash bonus for a coupon (that requires DD)!

Is it confirmed and current that AP counts as a DD to avoid monthly fee?

Your post was in August. I have tead around here that Chase's perspective on AP has changed in the relatively recent past and would therefore like to confirm that it is "confirmed and current" that it works to avoid monthly fees.

Thank you
:-)

Do you perhaps know whether I can open a joint account with my wife if I already have one? Want to open one for her, to get $200 from a coupon. I understand that if my account is fee free an her account has me as a joint user, then hers will automatically be fee free as well. I tried to open one for her online  with me as a joint and it didn't allow since I already have an account.

Any ideas?

Why do you think so?

I'd step into a branch. No way to do it online.

I was told so b'feirush around here a while back. I can find the quote if it makes a difference.
Was I perhaps given inaccurate information?

Could I open one for her online then add myself in a branch  before the third month when they start charging service fees?  That way I can open an account and use a coupon this calendar year - today, and still be eligible for another for next year.

I don't know Chase's policies (it can't hurt to just ask a banker to confirm) but with Citi if you meet the minimum balances to waive maintenance fee on a checking account, then you can open other checking accounts (or be a signer on other accounts) and they will be free as well. If however your account is free because it is coded as an employee account, student account, or you are meeting certain behavior (such as direct deposit or a certain number of transactions), then your other accounts would not be automatically free.
