Apparently they do sell some cheeses, but maybe only in their upstate farm stand?

So is Bethel an exclusive CY company at the next level (Shomer Shabbos ownership?) up from Kreider/POTF?
Many rabbis would only use his meat

I think they originally started the milk for the viznitzah Rabbi zt"l

Haven’t seen this in any of the stores.

Anyone see it in Flatbush/BP?

Yup, I know of shluchim in far flung places that can get C"Y locally, but they only eat Ahava/CHK C"Y...

Really? I've only ever met one person who did that (my grandfather) and that was only *in CH* to support the local product. There is one specific brand that is avoided for reasons mentioned on another thread, but all CY besides CHK I've never seen.

I'm not in BP anymore, but Breadberry probably sells it?

https://breadberry.com/brooklyn/#!?q=bethel

Stores don't like to stock a lot of it (short shelf life etc.) so it's often sold out.

Something to do with 212 I think? Not really sure.

So who needs all these kosher brands???

Same with canned goods, potato chips, etc.

Why can't we have different brands that actually cater to different standards.
it’s a good thing, helps keep prices down.
Any sizable market will have multiple brands competing for market share.

Then it's probably not only CHK rather not Star K which doesn't Kasher at 212

He is a shochet but doesn't shecht as he can't face his animals being killed

One of my favorite Yeshivah days stories. One of the first days when guys don't know each other yet and are still somewhat uncomfortable. One guy sees someone eating a yogurt and asks, "two twelve?"
"No, it was $1.79"

I have bought it in Breadberry in the past so the definately carry it, maybe they are out of it at the moment. Also, might be worth to ask because i find that since there is such a small row of the Bethel products, they sort of get lost between all the myriad of other companies. It's such a big selection that the eye just doesnt notice it.
IINM Einhorns grocery on 16th Ave is worth a try.

And yes, the vanilla yogurts are something special. Try it on a waffle, there is no need for ice cream!

So I went to the farm on Friday to fetch a few yogurts, I wanted to make sure I'm getting the freshest and I was in the area anyway. What should I say... the OP's long megilah was no exaggeration. These yogurts are creamy and smooth as it gets, zero tartness but not too sweet, and tastes absolutely delicious! Like Exgingi, I've also wondered whether these are regular yogurts or some sort of soft creamy cheese. Today I was back at the farm, this time to really stock up.

If I may share my 2 cents what I picked up.

IMO maple is their best flavor, delicious and not too sweet. Vanilla bean was a bit too sweet. The guy working at the farm stand (an einikel of the Chofetz Chaim zt"l !) also confirmed that maple yogurt is their hottest item. (I did not see any plain yogurts not at the farm and not in the grocery)

They started to produce peach and blueberry yogurts too, was only available in smaller cups as a sort of tasting option. Was delicious as well and far better than the big brands, but maple is king IMO.

When produced, it's dated about a month ahead, so don't expect later expiration dates.

For $2.75 at the farm and probably more than that at your local supermarket, these aren't cheap, but definitely worth it for such a superb product.

Thanks @wayfe for introducing it here!

It's not a low fat yogurt. Have you seen their milk- it has a full layer of cream on top. It's not processed/skimmed/filtered like other milks, they just have their whole milk. I'm not 100% familiar with how all othe dairy is made, but I'm pretty sure there are companies that will skim all their milk and then reintroduce the milkfat/cream to 2-4%.

But with almost everything food related, you are correct, fat = flavor.

Lower fat dairy products will always be higher in carbs, because the ratio of lactose (milk sugar) increases. This will happen even with minimally processed healthier dairy that isn't necessarily a 'nutritional disaster'. But once you go to the flavored sweetened stuff- you're basically eating dessert.

When I lived in Israel I used to eat tons of organic goat yoghurt with fruit ahh like givat olam etc

It's a major problem in the United States I guess elsewhere too but so much of the diet is sugar ladden

I'm actually going to start on the topic to discuss
