Are you assuming we are being punished in some way for having elected Trump? Following that line, the regime, feeling secure in its power, wouldn't have felt the need to lash out. So then maybe we would have been better off.

But also things were always heading to where they were heading, so there's a good chance we would be in the exact same place. We may have even gotten there faster, if not for Trump being the wrench thrown into the works.

If Trump would have run as a democrat, would things be exactly the same or directly the opposite?

HRC loss gave us Trump. IMHO that was a disaster. Trump loss then gave us Biden and another disaster so far.
