FWIU, there is no technical legal distinction between the two. A raid is executing a search warrant by surprise. How much notice is required for it to be a search and not a raid? I don't think there is any specific definition. It only became a "thing" now because Trump people are saying raid, so we have to say every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. There is enough to criticize him on without getting into these inane discussions about what "is" means.
