This must be because they didn't want it to be a raid, not because they wanted to avoid a fed-on-fed gun battle.

SS was notified so they didn't shoot the FBI agents. Duh. How long in advance did they know? Do we know if they were allowed to or if they did notify Trump?

Agents didn't enter in uniform or with guns drawn.

Where are you getting that uniforms or drawn weapons are definitive of raids?

Trump was not awakened at 4 AM and sent to stand on the golf course in his PJs.

Again, what does the time of day or his activities at the time have to do with the definition of a raid?

FWIU, there is no technical legal distinction between the two. A raid is executing a search warrant by surprise. How much notice is required for it to be a search and not a raid? I don't think there is any specific definition. It only became a "thing" now because Trump people are saying raid, so we have to say every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. There is enough to criticize him on without getting into these inane discussions about what "is" means.

The routine search happened back in May when the feds were there looking through boxes. This was the raid. Trump’s attorneys were not allowed in to observe.

9 hours and not destroying or throwing things everywhere shows they were careful. They were looking for documents and went through them. That takes time and eyes.

While all this going on: Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) says that the FBI confiscated his cell phone after three agents approached him while he was traveling with his family on Tuesday.

I guess no big deal.

IINM, a LEO damaging property during a raid/search is liable for criminal charges. (unless of course they are doing it to protect themselves, etc.)

Had they had ss protection it wouldn’t have gone down like that.

This is the first time something like this has happened & therefore can’t be compared to local Joe & Shmoe being raided.
