most news outlets are using the word raid, from the NYT to the BBC. Even blatantly LW pubs like the New Yorker. How do you explain them using raid when the warrant said search?
This argument is so beyond stupid.
This only emphasizes why we need to be careful in our word choice. The night it happened, and the next morning, the news media pundits were calling it a search, and explaining what's involved in getting a search warrant. It was Trump who chose the word raid, with its more objectionable connotation. Here are the instances of the words used in the NPR article from that morning, where you can see that
they used "search" and only the Trumps used "raid". But, as you say, the Trump choice of terms insidiously made their way into the national discourse, such that now even NPR is using the the word raid.
