It sounds really annoying, but this is how a lot of these workers work. At least in my experience. They usually go do their jobs and do it well, but nothing stops them from showing up late or skipping a day randomly etc. It’s the way of the business. I actually think if he called to let you know that he won’t be coming it’s a sign that he’s more of an honest guy.
