My brother in law lived in Israel, He lived on month withdrawals of a US annuity. Local assets are just the small bank balances ($2K or so) needed for living, As I understand it, the annuity is not part of the estate in Israel, .....but I think we need to have an executor appointed just to make a claim for the annuity. The only beneficiary is my wife--the only sibling left alive. Must I go through the succession order/probate order system for my wife to claim the US annuity as beneficiary. Or to go through the system to claim the few thousand dollars?
