Reminds me of the joke...
Someone comes up to Shomayim and all the malachim gather to welcome him. He goes straight to Gan Eden, with much fanfare and pomp. A bystander comes by and asks the man in wonder what he did to merit such a welcome.
"It all is from a single incident that I once did," the man replied. "I was driving on the Palisades Parkway when I saw a motorcycle gang surrounding a yeshiva bochur, ready to lynch him. I quickly jumped out of my car and ran over to the leader and grabbed him by his leather jacket. While motioning to the bochur to make a run for it, I shouted at the leader of the gang in my most macho voice, 'If you're gonna fight with him, you're gonna have to fight with me first!' Since I saved his life, I merited direct passage into Gan Eden."
With great admiration, the bystander said, "Wow, that's amazing! When did that happen?"
"About 3 minutes ago," the man responded.
