UENJ exists for one simple reason: unite the New Jersey community in an effort to ease growing tuition costs. By pooling our collective voices, we can bring about a positive change that will to alleviate the financial burden and invest in the future of our children.

Another Luey Shiner project?

Who is their marketing? Totally off to say that the government has to do something to lower our private tuition costs. Freedom of choice, maybe, but help us pay our tuition?! Why in the world would they be obliged to do that? Am I missing something?

We already pay taxes which fund public schools. Why should we pay twice?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Nothing I read says anything about that. To the public it sounds like help me pay for the expensive private school I choose to send my children to. That's why I aske who is doing the marketing.

The add that I read was saying they are trying to implement in NJ in the same manner as has been done in Ohio, Pennsylvania and 20 other states...

We pay taxes that fund public school students at a cost of $24,583 per student. We are requesting vouchers for private school children at a cost of $13,340 per child. Why isn’t that fair? Each child that doesn’t go to public school saves the district more than the cost of private school.

These numbers are taken directly from the uenj.org website.

Many private schools cost an exorbitant amount of money, and each individual public school student doesn’t cost as much as the total figure much of which is excessive administration, union, BOE, building costs, etc.

However, IINM on average private schools do cost somewhat less than public schools and the quality difference is off the charts- the data shows private school students outperform public school students in every major academic category.

(There is of course selection bias at play here as well because private school parents are generally wealthier and more invested in academic success).

ETA:
Data showing private school students outperform public school students in every subject and on all parts of the SATs:

Should someone who does not have children get a rebate since they are not using public schools?

What do you think that will look like in most small mesivtas?
