What happens when an Instacart order is cancelled after the shopper has purchased the items?
My wife was at Costco and someone came over to her saying that he just finished shopping an order and the buyer cancelled. He told her that instacart told him just to keep it. It was a 200 dolllar order and he offered it to her for 20 dollars.
Is that how it works? Does Instacart end up covering the $200?

Ya, instacart would be covering the order. Didn't even know there was an option to cancel an order post payment.
At most I had it where I told the shopper to skip a specific item because I didn't want it, as it was to late to edit my items as he started shopping, so I needed him to void it in app, they have an option to refund an item.
And another time with target, the driver came knocking on my door, but of course noone was home, or I could be mistaken and my wife was home, but this nut job was banging as if hes running from police and asking to open the door. Though i clearly added a note to please leave at the door. But he didn't give up and banged for 10 minutes, got mad, took my order and booked. Yes i installed a camera doorbell after that incident as my wife was freaked out as to why some stranger is banging for 10 minutes. And I forgot to mention that we may have an instacrt order coming in the afternoon. Or didn't think anyone would be home when it came.
I had called instacart and they replaced my order which came within the hour. Was very happy with the replacement and time frame to get it.
