My reaction to this video (and didn't watch the Dropbox one, this was more than enough) - Her poor kids. Including the older one. What kind of chances at life do they have.

Also @biobook  no matter how bad the assault is, if the victim won't press charges the cops can't do anything in almost all cases.

So you’re saying they’re only responsible for the safety of passengers w/r/t the aviation angle of things? What about hijackings? I’m not suggesting this was a hijacking but I thought their safety mandate/responsibility and their training for that was broader and I might very well be mistaken, please correct me if I’m wrong.

To be blunt, you are wrong. Air Marshalls are the U.S. answer to in-plane hijack prevention, as ineffective as that might be. Flight attendants are absolutely not trained in hand to hand combat or law enforcement, they aren't equipped to do so, nor are they authorized to use force against others any more than you and I are. Can you imagine sending a cop out on the street with no gear and no training and asking them to perform as a police officer? Why would we expect that of FAs?

Although not really relevant, I would submit that a hijacking does represent a safety of flight issue while someone loudly cursing in the aisles while taxiing generally does not.

There had to be more to this story than just the dog. The small poor dog never barked once the whole time.

When I called him a few days ago to decide if I wanted to write about this, the victim told me that they were cursing and fighting each other at the gate. UA reps had to go over and calm them down before boarding

Other info from our call:

-He was sitting with wife and kids in 35 abc with more kids in 36 abc
-The 2 women were in 35d and 36d. The dog was in 36d opposite the kids
-When they took the dog out, he quietly went to the fa in the back and asked if dogs are allowed to be out, FA confirmed that was not allowed.
-FA told 36D to kennel the dog.
-After that 36D started yelling and cursing, growing increasingly violent with time.
-He didn’t respond a word
-36D started yelling about jews, threated to beat up his kids
-FA was holding the phone so the pilot could hear what was going on
-After the pilot announced going back due to a disturbance, the lady started screaming and cursing even more
-FAs were just a few rows behind them, but failed to reseat anyone or do anything to deescalate..
-Security came on and told them they need to get off
-36D says "I'm going to come get you in cle heights, I know you jews live in cle heights"
-Daughter in 36C was crying and scared and covered her face. 36D then hit daughter in face
-He immediately jumped up and pushed her back, saying youre not hitting my kids. Lady then hit him.
-People were screaming to get police on the plane, not just security
-Security removed them off the plane, where they were met by police.
-Pilot came out of cockpit and apologized
-Police wanted to know if he would press charges, but said you may have to return to LA have to testify

No doubt this person is a lowlife who would attack anyone, and I blame the system that brought this person up. There is also no doubt that the fact that they were Jewish caused extra special treatment.

I am not saying people don’t get threatened and cursed out all the time. I’m saying Jews are singled out for extra special treatment.

The captain should have been informed and they should not have been allowed on the plane. I've seen videos of people being denied boarding because of verbal arguments in the gate area

I believe that most altercations that take place with a Jew involved devolve into at least some anti-semitism. This is proof of the casual anti-semitism that just slipped in here and we’re not even talking about.

(Not everyone is an anti-Semite but the ones who yell do have a tendency towards such).
