This got me thinking....I don't know anything about twitter, and I personally think it's not healthy to obsessively browse it...but since people are doing that anyway, why not create a community effort to combat misinformation
Twitter has a feature called "Community Notes," designed to add context to tweets and fight misinformation. This presents an opportunity: What if we mobilized as a community to make the most of this feature? The Game Plan
- Identify Top Contributors: Let's find individuals who have credibility on twitter and are known for their accuracy and expertise to become contributors. These are the people who will write the notes that add context to misleading tweets.
- Community Upvoting: Once a note is written, it needs visibility. That's where the community comes in. Anyone can upvote a note to ensure it gets the attention it deserves.
- Target Tweets Needing Context: To streamline this process, we could maintain a running list of tweets that are misleading or could benefit from additional context. This way, our top contributors know where their expertise is most needed and we know where to vote.
can something like this work?
