I am confused why you pinged me. If you want my view, I need to understand the situation.
What is state law regarding sending students to uncertified schools?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

What is state law?
There is no clear law that's why we have this debate/argument going on for years
OJPAC is trying to claim that if there is no clear guidelines you can't hold anyone accountable
Yaffed is trying to claim even if it's not clear it is definitely violated by some schools
So Yaffed is pressuring the state to clarify
OJPAC is trying to claim if you're making new guidelines then you must take the comments into account....

That now makes @imayid2 question clear.
My view would be that schools should be certified by the state/gov.
I would make it a requirement for receiving state/gov funds.

This was my point.
As a result, these programs are directly related to education.
Come on, twist the pretzel however you like but if the article stated “These schools who aren’t offering a comprehensive enough education shouldn’t get income-qualifying meal funding until they shape up” I don’t think it would have quite the impact it’s trying for.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

There is no pretzel here. Money given to schools for food programs help with the child's education. As I stated it is also a shell game. State/gov funds for food programs is less money the schools need to use their own money that they can use on other things at the school. It is all related.

Schools wouldn’t use their own money, parents would pay for the food. That’s what happens if you don’t qualify for funding. Why is the blood of public school students more red than those who attend private?

No, don't quote it!  I read it, despite the formatting.  Just didn't find it that impressive, but didn't want to enumerate the reasons.

Again, source?

I'm not saying it's not true. I'm genuinely asking what your source is for this.

And also, this is only part of the funding. To get to the nice billion dollar figure they include all kinds of funding that no one disputes is perfectly entitled.

How much of the ps budget in primarily Chassidic districts is paid for by Chassidic tax payers who don't use the ps system?

Let's just say if the Chassidim enrolled all their kids into ps, or stopped paying their taxes, the entire local ps system would crumble in a flash.

All my children attended private grammar schools. Their blood was all the same color. Am I missing something here.

Our school provided food for the kids from poor families. Any state/gov funds for food programs freed up funds they were using for other things.

If the school accepts any state/gov funds, then there should be rules they must follow!!!

If a simple google search does not show many articles about the relationship between school hunger and learning I will search for you.

הלכה עשו שונא ליעקב, and the self hating jews are worse than that.

Why is everyone getting so worked up by an article in the NY Slimes. Did you expect otherwise?
