quite clearly חינוך.
Openly discussing pressing charges on parents sending to uncertified schools
How effective would that be? Do they have the resources to go after tens of thousands of parents?

Here in Quebec where they have much more resources and much less people it is still not much more than threats
Jews ≠ Zionists
Palestinians ≠ Hamas
Satmar ≠ SatmarHQ

Why do they always get the 5 nebach cases for these articles?

There is plenty of successful people that went to cheders.

In every society there are people that aren't successful.

This drivel does not deserve me or anyone playing devil's advocate but the article addresses that by calling attention to the mass reliance on welfare. Your sentiment though is shared by all here and expressed in the quote from Zwiebel. Our society is far more successful and contributes better than the society they advocate for

The goal of the article and the people who fought to make it happen is for "us" to read it, to change the perspective from within. Think about that.

Accurate article, sadly. I went to such a school in Brooklyn.

The higher percentage relying on welfare is a result of young and large families, with or without an education. When you compare actual income amounts per age group, it is not lower than the general population.

Which specific part? If that part is accurate for the school you went to, has it changed since you were there? And is it the same in every Orthodox school?

Looks like a hit piece unto satmar.

Lol even "chabad learnd English to proselytize". He definitely needed to add chabad into the the article, and couldn't come up with anything better...

General educational neglect. It's still very accurate. Not every Orthodox school, but many hasidic ones.

That doesn't make it an "accurate article"

This is such a misnomer. It's not educational neglect. There's objectively loads more education in a Yeshivah than a public school. Just the amount of time in school shows that. It's the education *you* consider educational that is being "neglected".

Hours spent in a building does not constitute "education", it's the quality and content. And of course it's subjective. Thanks for clarifying that they get oBjeCTiVely loads more education — guess the lack of basic skills is all remedied up now!

What skills do public school students have more than yeshiva students?

You're right, of course, time doesn't necessarily equal education. But I think it can be a tool to generalize who is valuing education vs neglecting it.

But then you go on to claim that there is a lack of basic skills, completely ignoring what I said that the only "basic skills" that are missing are the ones *you* consider valid basic skills.

I shouldn't be hard on you though, basic reading comprehension clearly escapes you due to your horrific education.

I haven't been following this fiasco closely but can someone please enlighten me if this is really an education issue or is it a money issue?
