Sales tax when buying to resell

Is it possible to get a resale certificate to avoid sales tax when buying items to sell on ebay when ebays processes the sales tax on the resale? How would i prove that sales tax is being paid on the sale of the item?

if you have  business many sites including amazon( not sure about eBay) will allow you to send in the document and will make your account tax exempt.

Is that for purchases or sales? I'm trying to get tax exempt on the purchases of items for resale.
