The timing for flying back from Asia on a Friday morning is great.
You get to EWR at 9am.

it is literally just a cut and paste of AA jfk-doh
can someone explain me ,if all us carrier flights to dubai failed why would a connection codeshare help, why not just fly emirates all the way?

First off United could originate traffic beyond Newark, e.g. xxx-EWR-DXB-yyy (with xxx operated by United or a regional and yyy by Emirates). United might also attract other customers e.g. GSA (U.S. government) business that by their rules has to be sold by a US airline, customers loyal to United, customers United markets to, etc.
