Since RH is one of the five hashkamos, plus what chazal say on sleeping RH, isn't it a better idea to go sleep earlier and finish TehilLim early in the morning?

sounds powerful. obviously not if its going to ruin your davening the next day. but if you can finish your meal early and read quickly...

i also heard that the brisker rav used to say tehillim the whole rosh hashana.
