Local and/or state laws regarding car seats and child restraint systems (booster seats).

New York's Occupant Restraint laws require the following:

  • Children up to the age of 4 must be properly restrained in a federally approved child safety seat that is attached to a vehicle by a seat belt or universal child restraint anchorage (LATCH) system.
  • Children less than age 4 but weighing more than 40 poundsmay be restrained in a booster seat with a lap/shoulder safety belt. However, a child safety seat that accommodates higher weights can be used.
  • Children ages 4, 5, 6 and 7 must be properly secured in an appropriate child restraint system, one for which the child meets the height and weight recommendations of the child restraint manufacturer.*
  • An appropriate child restraint system is one that meets the child's size and weight recommended by the manufacturer.
  • A vehicle's safety belt is NOT a child restraint system.
  • Children riding in booster seats must be secured with a combination lap/shoulder seat belt, NEVER secure a child in a booster seat with only a lap belt.
  • From the age of 8 until they reach their 16th birthday, children must be restrained in a seat belt whenever they ride in a vehicle. All Front seat passengers must be properly restrained at all times, regardless of age.
  • Children 12 years and younger should ride in the back seat. By simply buckling up your child in the back seat reduces his/her risk of death by 33%.

*It is recommended that booster seats be used until your child is 4 foot 9 inches tall or weighs 100 pounds.[/li][/list]

New Jersey law going into effect 9/1/2015

Didn't score very well in CR.
For that price I thought it would be rated the highest.

Of course not because the Snugride is 22 pounds versus 30 for the Chicco.
The longer they can stay in the infant seat the better IMHO.
So why can't you get the snugride 35 or 40 which will last longer.

The only reason why I'm going towards a Graco is because I like their bases better.

Did you read the CR reviews??
It does poorly in every category!
It didn't score well for safety, ease of use, LATCH, or belt.

No. I'm at the store now speculating. I like the Chicco 30, just like the base of the Gracco better. I don't like the double wheels in the front of the Chicco frame.

Is there other options regarding the frame?

Sure, buy another stroller like the UBV that everyone loves and an adapter for the Chicco.

The CR reviews are linked to in the Wiki.

Of course your baby grew out of it as you bought a carseat with a small capacity.
Rafi grew out of his Graco under 6 months!

You can see how CR feels on Graco versus Chicco via the links in the Wiki.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Ratings give the Chicco a 92 and the Graco a 70.
yes. My son was to big by age 4.5 months. And i just used it as a car seat attachment to the UBV. And that's why u just borrowed the graco and didnt buy a car infant seat.
If you have any questions please search and then ask. PM me for detailed help.

I still don't get it.
If you had a Chicco you could've used it 2-3 times as long.

It was great as we were able to transfer him in and out of cars and planes with ease.  I miss it a lot these days.

i don't need it really. At least i don't think i do, i live in IL, have no car and he is fine in the vista seat. And when i fly, i can't afford to get him a seat yet :) so hes going to have to be good with the bassinet.

Fair enough, if you have no car that's a big difference.  But then why do you need a CARseat??

And as long as there's an empty seat on a flight you can use a carseat.  I get it over 90% of the time.

i am rots5. Not Mr. Deals  ;D

Speaking of which. I was at a meal with a close pal of yours and someone said to this close pal "you prob get this a lot but is dans last name deals".

i fly during Bain hazmanim, there are never extra seats. But it just so happens to be there was a seat 2 seats away from me from JFK>CDG open, but i don't think i would've done anything. I needed a car seat in the beginning bec the bassinet was very annoying to walk all around with (weight wise)

Now the question is, should I buy it from Amazon with the 15% off? Should I stock up on GC or swipe the Amex for insurance purposes.

Or should I go through BBB and use the 20%? Then should I go with GC or Amex?

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions..........

BBB. 20% is better than 15% at amazon. Lifetime is better than "the first 2 years"
