AFAIK Deblasio did something similar with Bris mila. I think the best time would have been when the court struck it down as they did by bris mila.

This is something which we are proud to say is so important that WE CANNOT stand behind you if you impede this, even if you will win. We don't have to apologize or be awkward if you win. We will have no regrets. Because this is an issue that is too important to play politics over.

It may even do more good in the long run. Hochul will see that we are willing to burn our bridges over this, and there is more than political clout on the line for us over here.

One candidate is at least saying the right things while one isn’t. She also has a terrible record (crime, covid closures, not supporting the yeshivos). Why is this even a question??

I haven’t seen the excitement over his Jewishness, but because he takes crime seriously & his stance on yeshivas.

Our chinuch & yiddishkeit is under constant attack. One just wants to leave it as status quo, the other shows interest & concern. Those values
