Crazy how those with a solid English curriculum vote Republican in order keep the state out of the Chassidishe Mosdos, when the chasidim themselves allow themseleves the liberty to vote for Democrats.

While I don't agree with those endorsing Hochul it is still worth noting that communities like Satmar/Skver who have villages and large Mosdos chains across the state are much more relying on the goodwill and connections with the state leaders than the average Litvak/MO school or Rav who are risking much less when good connections to Albany are being lost.

but as I said people are voting for Zeldin nevertheless, including from Satmar R"A, and lots of people who don't usually vote.

Meh.
The litvak and MO crowd didn't write to Albany to save Satmar or Chabad schools. They wrote to save their own schools from state regulation.
Oh, I'm sure that was said and it's a nice sentiment indeed. But that doesn't mean this was some altruistic campaign and Satmar is being kafui tov here.
Everyone is aware of the they will come for me next principal.
No, I'm saying they're looking out for everyone (including themselves), not just chasidim.
So saying Satmar is being kafui tov is not the case.

You mean the Litvish and MO schools that may come under increased scrutiny becouse of orginizations founded and populated by disgruntled graduates of the CHASSIDISH school system??
and the litvish and MO said that we will stand with your right to decide to not teach ANY limudei chol? and didn't condition their support on them at least trying to claim to teach somthing that could be possibly said to be "substantialy equivilant" to a secular education?
They are looking out for themselves???

Sorry, Kofoi Tov.

If you don't think that everyone wants to keep the status quo (no government involvement) in private schools, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
The bottom line is that 2 or 3 hours of secular studies will never be substantially equivalent to a public school offering 6 hours of that and therefore no private school wants the government to tell them what to do.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

as far as what the governor can do:
in the "soft power" the governor can wield, you cannot compare the soft power of an insider like hochul, to an 'opposition' gov like Zeldin. IF the askonim would claim that she was going to quietly work with them, she could probably accomplish more, and I might have believed it.
but as they are saying the opposite: start with the initial reports from her meeting with the Satmar Rebbe, continue to her including 'opportunities' in the same letter, on to the excitement of the Yaffed/NYT guys with her, she isn't interested.

in that case, even if he can do nothing, just the fact that we put him in there over this issue, will be a warning shot to all the local school board officials. and if we don't, then we're announcing that we will never do anything on this issue

You don't have to take my word for it, but in a potential SCOTUS showdown, PEARLS approach to the issue (don't mix into our religion; Torah education is substantial enough and we technically don't need ANY Limudei Chol to be 'educated') has much more chances vs Agudas's approach ("look at our scores.. the little that we offer is better than public schools etc).

They are? Is there a reason they're not listed here? https://agudah.org/about/

Not true. It's a new organization led by Rabbi C.D. Zwiebel of the Agudah and Rabbi Niderman of Satmar.
