Upgrading AMEX gold business to Business Platinum

I just asked to close my Amex Gold business card (which has gotten me 78000 points over the last 6 months) to Amex Business Platinum. I was hoping they would give me more points, but they actually said they would upgrade me to Business Platinum (with all the perks) and only charge me $125 for the year (instead of $450). I still can get $200 in non-ticket airline purchases and free Global Entry (worth $100). That is $300 for $125 plus all the extras. Worth it I think! Thanks Dan and crew.

I got an offer to upgrade my Biz Gold to Platinum for 140k after 10k spend. If I upgrade before the end of the year, would I be able to double dip? I was charged the annual fee in April, if that makes a difference

I called in but had no luck 🙁
But I upgraded anyway after confirming with the rep that I can double dip benefits and that more than covers my prorated annual fee.

You can double dip but be aware that if you haven't yet gotten the sub on the biz plat, upgrading would make you ineligible. Better to apply for a new one first then upgrade
