Chase Freedom vs Chase Saphire
« on: November 22, 2009, 01:49:41 PM »
Which card is better?  I have the Freedom and they use the new points system, i used to get cash back, but they changed it.  Is the Saphire rewards and benefits better than the freedom?

my freedom still gives me all the benefits i always got - 6 categories, $250 for $200 cash back, no cap, what else?

ive gotten lost of $ from it so far. I would never trade it for the saphire. if your on a stupid system maybe its worth it - dunno

Are you sure you are still on a cashback system?  Because they changed mine to the ultimate rewards and I called them about it and they said that they are changing it for everyone.

pretty sure

it says Cash Available   $95.70 on my login page, when i go to redeem rewards i have the option to buy a $250 check for $200, and i have six different categories where i got bonuses in on my last statement

are you on freedom or freedom plus? do you have a checking account w/ them?

i have "freedom plus"

i get mail from them sometimes with a special "chase exclusives" logo thats exclusive for checking customers - i just googled it though and the card offer was like 10 points/$1 (im only getting 3 :()

maybe check out the business one - it used to be the same just different categories

i remember after they started making changes to the freedom cards a friend of mine got something in the mail that he's eligable for such a card, the same terms pretty much as me, for being a checking customer - i doubt a few months later they're already cutting the whole thing

you could always switch to boa - they have basically the same thing i think just different categories

There's a ad in today's NY Post saying "get 3% cashback on the freedom"

lets explain whats going on with chase
if you have a old cc in the mean time it stays the same
now for the new cards the have 2 chase freedom cards

1 that gives you 1% cash back and 3% rotating every 3 months(remember to sign up for the 3% cash back every 3 months) this one is a master card

2 the chase freedom chase exclusive(you need a chase ban account) you get 1 point for every dollar  plus 10 points for EVERY transaction (EVEN FOR 1 CENT)  plus additional 1 point per every 10 dollars on your statment (386$ = 38 points)
