I have an unpaid toll in italy, and it went to collections rather quickly, its a european comapny, do I have anything to worry about in terms of all the legal fees and credit pulls they are threatening me with?

They are saying they have full rights to report to credit agencies, etc..

Personally I'd be worried if I were you. Credit scores are important for everybody, but they are particularly important for people like us that like to play this game ( miles, points, Credit cards, Etc.)

It is certainly possible that they are bluffing and do not have the intention or capability to report to the big three American credit bureaus…But if they are not bluffing, and they actually follow through on that threat, then you are in big trouble.

Look at it in context of total cost.
How much was your trip? How much was a  night in a hotel? How much wa a meal? How much total for the car rental, gas and tolls?
Is the ticket price so much that it makes a difference in the total cost of the trip?
(If they're already adding fees, try to bargain back to the original fine.)

How could an Italian agency sell your debt to a US collections agency? That would have violated EU data privacy laws! Tell the agency, "levati dalle palle".

I would though be worried about future travel to Europe, as next year they are planning to implement Electronic Travel Authorization for non-EU citizens travelling to Europe - https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en (European Travel Information and Authorisation System)
