I should have put an option for pretending you don't support him like most in this thread.  :)
These could've been your two options:

Do you think Trump is a vile dictator who eats children and scratches blackboards and uses a credit card that earns Bank of America points, or are you a Trump supporter?

That would be slanted.

So Jan 6 was nothing where many people died and/or injured?

What world are these Trumpsters living in?

They would say he didn't directly support the violence, and what happened shouldn't have occurred had there been any semblance of competency with the security around one of the most sensitive buildings in the world. The mob was more of a joke than the average BLM riot, and his support for their actions was also more muted than many politicians explicit and tactic support for the violent BLM protesters (which also led to large-scale damage, injuries, and some deaths). Of all the violent mobs and protests in the 12 month period around that incident, and in the level of a politicians support, Jan 6th wouldn't top either list.

I understand that you disagree, but this is why many people don't get too worked up about Trump and automatically write him off due to Jan 6. I can think of other things that I think are better reasons not to support him than that episode.

Again, twisting narratives. That's not why he lost any voters. Anyone listening to his speech heard him saying "March peacefully". Of course Jan 6 was a bad day but to say that he was the one who incited it is again why people are turning back to Trump. When all the democratic clowns were using similar or even harsher words, that was totally fine. All of the sudden by Trump everything changes.

By the 2020 election, any congressman who voted for challenging the votes is called an ELECTION DENIAR however when Trump won in 2016 it was totally appropriate for a bunch of Dems to try and vote to challenge that election and you did not hear a word!

Many people don't get too worked up about Ye and Kyrie either because they won't open their eyes.

For you keep bringing up BLM shows your prejudice. AFAIK BLM is not connected to any political party/president but don't let facts get in the way.

Trump was never really considered electable, by traditional metrics. I do think he's gotten worse over the years (covid was largely his tipping point into lunacy, even though his administrations policies were fairly coherent, and then the election loss went over the deep end), but it's not like he started out as a decent guy. 2016 is still hard to explain, even in retrospect.

We're still fighting over the same points we've been discussing for 7 years. 😂 Nothing changes. The news cycle is remarkably repetitive, when you cut to the core.

And just to add to this.

Another reason I'm not hyped up about Jan 6 is for the same reason the media and liberal politicians didn't care about BLM riots.
So when it affects average citizens businesses and safety no one cared, because it works with their political narrative. All of the sudden when the people sitting in power feel for a few hours what some business owners felt for weeks, suddenly I need to care?? Suddenly it's the end of the world?

There were plenty of politicians that expressed their direct support or at least validation for the protests, riots, looting, damage, pillaging, anarchy, violence, and destruction. You call my perspective bias against blacks, and others have called your perspective bias against Trump. Presupposition coloring our viewpoints is hard to avoid.

Which innocent people were killed because of the riot?

Don't count people who were part of the riot and died because of making bad choices.

Btw, when I think of Trump, the first word that comes to mind is yuck. I find him to be an abhorrent (more like mentally ill, honestly) individual. I'm not trying to defend him because I'm a fan. That being said, much of what the media reports is fake news and twisted statements and stories blown wildly out of context and proportion. This has been the case before Trump came around, and continues to be the case after him. It's unlikely to change anytime soon. This is why people tend to roll their eyes and not get too breathlessly hysterical over every eye popping headline or one line quote. Properly edited footage can make anyone sound like a monster.

Your perspective of Trump doesn't have a bias?
The problem is when you twist many getting killed or injured as nothing. That isn't bias it is stupidity thinking anyone is buying it.

Check statistics of how many people changed their minds because of the January 6 com.

Because of Trump jumping to the wheel of the beast and trying to control it and punch secret service officers.  :o ???

No one is asking about changing their minds because of Jan 6. The question is changing your mind because he wants to get rid of parts of the constitution to put him back in power.

It seems many are confused by the question. It has nothing to do with Jan 6. Here is the question: Do you still support Trump after he called for disbanding the constitution to put him in power?

Very few who persisted with Trump up until now will suddenly change course because of this.
