I wouldn't give him that much credit to have made a sophisticated calculated political decision that distancing himself from West and Fuentes would cost him more in votes from the white supremacist contingency than it'll gain him in the more moderate camp that is turned off by his association with them. I think he just can't do anything which he views as an admission of having made the wrong move. He's always been bad at cutting losses, and digs his hole deeper and deeper as he throws good money after bad trying to validate himself.

Btw, I think his inability to recognize that he made a mistake or to lose a battle or argument, and how far he is willing to go to try to protect his image (in his mind) or to not admit defeat in anything, is significantly more dangerous than his meeting with those people, or the Jan 6 incident. He also wanted to ignore covid and cover up all deaths because he thought it was bad for his numbers. He seemed to be happy to endanger (or was incapable of recognizing that he was endangering) hundreds of millions of people if it would help his polling.

Why don’t you quantify how many were killed or injured and compare the ratio of those two numbers. Also a breakdown of the injuries would be helpful, since I doubt they were all from bullets or shrapnel.

My guess is people take the thread title to mean in a primary. If you have Trump v Biden for a general I'm sure the numbers would be different, I'll give you that.
