The Real ID requirement that was supposed to go into effect in May 2023 has now been delayed 2 years to May 2025 because of Covid-related backlogs.

i paid the extra money to get that flag for travel to mexica/canada/cruises. i went to try and board a plane to Canada with that enhanced ID and was denied. good thing i had my passport as back up.

I believe it only works for land crossings. Not by plane.
