Kiruv/gift question
« on: December 15, 2022, 06:41:29 PM »
Have a relative I need to get a gift for, 15 year old boy, currently in a reform jewish system. Any suggestions that would be enjoyed but at least a bit meaningful?

  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

I must be missing something. I read:

....a gift...15 year old boy....that would be enjoyed...

I took that to mean something your average teenager would actually enjoy, but that also may have a bit of meaning as well, not something that screams, "I wanna make you Orthodox."

The best I could think of was a CTeen getaway experience. But I really don’t know. Maybe it’s actually best to talk to a local CTeen chapter and ask for ideas.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

He does have tefillin, was looking to spend in the $20-30 range.

Pretty much. At the same time, it's not exactly a secret that we live somewhat different lives, so I don't feel the need to significantly camouflage my interest in sharing my values and the meaning I find in life.

I ended up giving the book "Incredible!" Everyone I know who's read it has enjoyed it as a read, so hoping he does, too!
