Pango in Israel (Parking payment system)
« on: July 26, 2014, 11:41:52 PM »
Has anyone ever used Pango with a rental car? how do you do it. Last time I was in Israel, I was amazed how easy it was for Israelis to pay for parking.

Really? I didn't know you need that for the service. here is the page where you can sign up. The only thing I don't have is "Car number" which I assume is the license plate number.
https://driver.pango.co.il/manage/AccountPersonalSmall.aspx?New=1&special1=1
Also, I wonder if a passport number works for that since for some other services in Israel it works instead of a TZ.

So let me get this straight: I sign up online? I enter an Israeli address where I may be able to get mail? I enter what for the "Car Number"? Do I need anything else? Thank you everyone for all the help!

Cello allows me to enter a US phone number but I don't receive the verification text from them.
Any tricks to getting this to work?

I use Pango with a rental car. Just remember to stop it when you get back to your car  or you will be charged for the full 3 hours. I used a TZ generated.

Cello seems you need to prepay minimum 50 shekel, correct me if I'm wrong?

Pango seems you can call *4500 but does anyone know if considered roaming/ extra charge to call? I have tmobile.

No roaming fee for the call in Israel. I agree, the only problem is remembering to turn it off, and if a rental remembering to remove the rental car from your account when you return the car.
