help with elal booking with children

I have a elal booking, 1 adult (not a parent) and 4 children. For the return leg, the "adult" in the booking cannot travel, however the parents who have a separate booking will be on the flight. The tickets are LITE fares and cannot be canceled and can only be changed with a fee. How can I change just the adult to a new return date, but keep the childrens ticket?

if booking was done by TA its a few simple commands

so call them up and have them "split the pnr"

But there will be no adult in the booking, won't that be an issue?

tell them there is a different pnr with their parents, they can do it, just as any TA can
