Should have done this in previous years (and also write some TRs) but here goes:




ETA:

1. EWR-SJU (May) was courtesy of expiring B6 Trueblue Heroes vouchers. Booked a couple of days before the trip, paid $20 p/p in taxes, fares were over $700 each. Got upgraded to 1A and 1B both ways as a Mosaic, and was able to do a free SDC due to Mosaic 24 hours before to a preferred flight that wasn't available with the vouchers.

2. PHL-ZRH (August) was very expensive unlike typical years when if you book the right time it drops to like $500-$600 (alas, these days only BE, a real Chutzpah on transatlantic flights). This year NYC-ZRH and PHL-ZRH stayed over $1,000 for months. Used Amex Biz Plat to book. Mosaic status helped to get free bags on BE and choose seats right away. Had to ask for a refund of bag fees, but was granted right away. Reps in PHL had absolutely no clue and didn't bother to try and figure it out, reps in ZRH didn't want to let me pay without figuring it out why it was charging me (and they did figure out how to waive it in the end).
