Recurring electronic transfer to another individual
« on: December 21, 2022, 03:00:33 PM »
Is there any way to set up an automatic/recurring electronic transfer from a regular, personal, US checking account to another person's checking account?
Zelle cannot be set up as recurring, it's one time only
Bill pay will print and mail a check
Is there any way to have it go electronically?
Perhaps a 3rd party service that can ACH debit one account and ACH credit the other?

interesting that Zelle from Chase can be recurring.
My particular need is from Capital One to BofA, I have no access to Cap1 to see, and a rep on the phone said it's not possible, and I can't see any option in Bofa to do it either...

Zelle from US Bank can also be set up weekly, monthly, every two weeks, and yearly.

You can also set the pay date.

does not seem to be an option on the capital one 360 checking, maybe it's different if you opened one in a branch instead of online... but you can do it with chase.

you can set up scheduled transfers to another account (including external) but that would require linking accounts

can you link accounts that aren't your own?
i.e. can the sender (with cap1) link the receivers account?

I've seen such options with various banks but they seem to only allow linking your own accounts at other banks

it may require the same name I'm not sure. I also saw a bill pay option for utilities etc. which has an option for paying a person. it asks for name address email and can mail a check if electronic transfer is unavailable

I have done without matching names, but keep in mind that linked accounts can also pull from the other account

Why not just set up a recurring Direct Deposit at the branch?
