I do believe that it is very hard to meaningfully engage with reporters that only want to print bad stories about you, but I think it could've been done in a little more of an eloquent way. There is some merit in calling out a reporter strongly, because bottom line, most people want others to think they are doing a good  job, and vocal criticism will usually make them be much more careful the next time.

I don't know this one. But I know my local antisemites in New Jersey.

Take a guy like Mike Davis, the APP reporter who covers Jackson. From reading his stuff for a long time, it's evident to me that he harbors a strong resentment to the local Jewish communities. However, he considers himself a tremendous professional, and he takes criticism on Twitter very seriously. Therefore, he uses extreme caution (which is noticeable to a discerning reader) when writing stories about the local Jewish communities.

Calling him out on Twitter whenever he crosses the line has always caused him to respond almost immediately because it pains him professionally, and he sometimes edits his pieces to change the parts that people complain about.

She's almost definitely incorrect about that. This wasn't a random hate rant - it was certainly targeted towards the specific person or was communicated too, and wouldn't have been any more positive had it been a male. If anything, it would've been harsher.

I did look through her Facebook page, and to me, I didn't see someone focused on the Jewish communities in the area she covers, or a hateful and negative person in general. Most of the stories were nice benign stories of kids being pulled out of trees or dogs being rescued or nice holiday decoration displays. She also had positive coverage of KJ and Hasidic responders.

She did come digging for a negative scoop here, which both her and the person who accosted her were aware of. I wouldn't call him a misogynist or her an anti Semite, from what I can see (obviously, I have a very limited perspective and don't have any background knowledge of either of them or the stories in question). Just two humans, who may have been irate with each other, but didn't commit any crimes in expressing their displeasure.
