Looking for ideas to revamp my Shul’s Melavah Malka. We normally honor someone, bring a speaker in and have a nice spread. Looking for new ideas. A unique program… Shul has a mix of older guys (50-60) and younger guys (30-40). Looking to attract younger guys and the older guys as well. Need the perfect balance.
Not sure what type of crowd you have? I assume you have a committee or asked a few members for ideas and this is just for some additional ideas?
Perhaps if on the more “serious” side you can try and get a gadol to give divrei Bracha, or a special kuntres on a sugya your oilam is doing if relevant.
If a different type of oilam you can have something more gimmicky like Boruch perlowitz like LNS mentioned, or a caricature artist or one of those picture etched in glass cubes so people have a memento to take home.
Maybe a well known singer?
Not sure what nice spread means but perhaps a high end wine tasting or unique meat cuts or if milchig cheese board or something like that? (Not sure what standards are in your community and if it’s not maybe check with the rav first)
