You seem to tangle these two issues as well...
So now they want an election denier to run the house. Why would anyone vote for these idiots? Oh, let me guess, their policies.  ::)
That is like saying free Palestine!!!

No, they kicked out a moderate to elect an election denier. This is what this party is now.

BREAKING: Mike Johnson (R-LA) elected U.S. House Speaker, ending the GOP's weekslong stalemate after Kevin McCarthy's ouster and 3 failed nominations.

I am not a major Congress buff and I have no idea what Mike Johnson's voting record is or what his personal beliefs are, but I've watched him plenty of times during committee hearings, and he always struck me as a reasonable, grounded person. He is really passionate, but always in a low-key way, not bellicose or haughty. Again, I'm not an expert, but that is my impression of him.

Are you aware he voted not to certify the election? AKA: election denier?

I am not at all fazed by that. I, along with about half the country, don't see that day as a danger to our nation, and we don't see a vote to overturn as an automatic disqualifier.

When all the George Floyd arsonists are prosecuted like the January 6 'insurrectionists,' I'll be ready to engage in a debate about the above. Until then, I think there is no point in debating.

Are you aware of his other votes or is every politician a one issue vote for you?

No one is a one vote issue for me.

I find that question on this forum hilarious.

Election denier doesn't only mean that, only elected officials in congress are election deniers?
He believes trump was a fake president, he questioned 2016 election and believed fake news russian interference

If your so upset about who the current speaker is, the democrats could've avoided this if they voted for McCarthy and not to oust him

Thanks for clarifying. Talk is one thing but voting to not certified is another animal.

Democrats voted for this, they could've voted to keep McCarthy and this wouldn't of happened. Almost all Republicans voted to keep McCarthy,

By the same token, Jeffries should be speaker. He actually had more votes than McCarthy. The reason nobody thinks he should be is because it's the responsibility of the majority party to get their act together. THIS GUY is the one that all aspects of the party were able to get behind. This is the representation of the Republican party. If you like him, well good for you. If you don't, well, it is what your party is nowadays. Nothing to do with Democrats.

Mike Johnson was on the Congressional Judiciary Committee during the Trump impeachment, which is when I saw him a lot (the first impeachment). Anyone who followed that will probably remember him.
