What did you pay for a dozen eggs?

As US hens seemingly started laying golden eggs (why?) it might be appropriate to have a thread regarding best deals for eggs.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I used to buy from target when it was 2.99, but I now signed up to Instacart+ with my freedom card and am ordering 2dz for 7.50 from Costco.

Costco $5.99 for 2 dozen

Costco seems to be the most consistent low cost during these times. Picked up 10dz last week, but I'm not sure what I paid, as someone else I was shopping with picked them up, and I didn't check the receipt after the fact.

I paid 15.99 for 5 dz in Costco today. Bingo Lakewood has XL on sale for 3.99.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I know in normal times we always buy XL (the standard in Jewish groceries), but is there any practical noticeable difference between XL and L?

XL has 80 calories and L has 70.

Large is approx. 6/7 the size of extra large. So for 1 or 2 eggs the difference is small. But for a recipe that calls for 6 eggs, you need an extra 1 with large.

Wholesale prices for large eggs have dipped down from the mid 5’s to just under $5 per dozen so expect some very slight improvement in retail prices in the next couple weeks. Much greater relief could come Feb, with the holiday season done and supplies slowly building.
